Iknoor sighed in relief as she reached the house and quickly went towards her room to take a bath.

She sighed when she opened the door of her room and still didn't find her husband.

It's been 3 days since he left at midnight stating he has some important work and he hasn't come back yet.

And the best part was that he hasn't called her for even once to let her know about hsj whereabouts.She did try to call him because everyone was asking about him from her but he hadn't replied to a single call of hers nor has he called her back for even once.

Forget call he hasn't even texted her to let her know about his whereabouts.

She took a bath and made her way downstairs into the kitchen to help the ladies prepare dinner.

"Call aaya uss nalayak ka?"Bela asked as soon as Iknoor entered the kitchen.

"Nhi,pr uska text aaya tha aunty,woh uska kaam abhi tak hua nhi h,usse aur time lag sakta h"Iknoor lied.

She hadn't received any such text.

But the family would get worried if she doesn't says this to them.

Bela nodded hearing that then.

According to the family atleast Nirvair was informing his wife about his whereabouts.

She helped them prepare dinner and they all even had it with some random chit chats.

Post dinner they all sat in the living room as they did every night before going to bed.

"Nirvair baba,sir bht gussa karenge"One of the security said as he followed Nirvair who was walking inside the house.

"Koi kuch nhi kahega don't worry uncle"Nirvair said as he continued walking inside and was met with the sight of his family sitting together.

He smiled looking at them all after 3 days but he didn't receive the same reaction from them.

"Nirvair!!yeh kya haal banakr rakha h?"Bela shrieked as she saw her son standing infront of her with his shirt drenched in blood holding a dog in his hand.

"Yeh khoon kiska h?"Aashi asked as she got scared seeing all that blood.

"Mera nhi h baba,iss dog ka h"Nirvair said showing the injured dog to them which he was holding in his arms.

"You are drenched in his blood!!!"Andy said disgusted with that view.

"Yeh sab kya h??yeh dog kya kr raha h yaha?"His chote papa asked him.

"Chote papa he is injured,isliye yaha lekr aa gaya"Nirvair said.

"This is my house,koi dharam shala nhi h jo kisi bhi sadak pr pade jaanwar ko tum ghar pr lekr aaoge Nirvair!"Andy said and Nirvair frowned hearing that.

"Pr dadu isko chot lagi thi,road pr bichara injured pada tha"Nirvair said and Andy sighed and looked at Bela who didn't looked at him at all.

She knows that he would blame her for this because Nirvair had taken after her mother when it comes to such thing,no matter what he says or what he portrays himself as he had a heart of gold which easily melts seeing other's in pain.

"That doesn't mean isko ghar pr lekr aaoge tum Nirvair!bimaari phel sakti h, infection ho sakte h,ghar mein ek choti bacchi h ab,dad h,mom h,they are aged now"Mahir said and Nirvair sighed.

But what he said was true also.

But then what about this dog?

Where shall be go?

"Wahi toh"Shivaay too said the same thing and Nirvair felt pity for the dog.

"Go and give it to the guard woh isse kahi chod aayenge"His chote dadu said and Nirvair frowned at that.

"Pr usse chot lagi h chote dadu,aise kese chod de isko?isse abhi care ki zarurat h wrna iski injury aur badh sakti h"Nirvair said.

"Nirvair ek kaam krte h isse dog shelter chod aate h,waha iski care karenge woh log"Bela suggested and Nirvair smiled hearing that.

Yes this would be perfect.

"Ask someone to go and drop this dog in one of the shelter homes"His chote papa said but Nirvair shook his head hearing that.

"Nhi,mein hi chodkr aa jaata hu"Nirvair said making them stare at him in bewilderment.

"Abhi aaya h tu puttar,aur halat dekh apni pure kapde khoon se sane h,isko koi chod aayega tu jaa aur jaakr freshen up ho jaa aur khana kha le"His dadi said.

"Nhi dadi isko chodkr aata hu pehle "Nirvair said stubbornly.

"Nirvair go and have a bath koi aur chod aayega iss"Andy said this time but Nirvair shook his head in denial.

"Kya pata isse kaha chod aaye?mein khud chodkr aata hu"Nirvair said and turned to leave.

Nobody stopped him because they knew he won't listen.

Andy then stared at Bela who still was trying to escape his gaze.

"Kya kya sikhati ho tum inn sab bacchon ko Bela?"Andy said.

"Dad,itni accha kaam toh kiya h usne,ab ek injured dog ki help krna galat thodi hota h"Bela said supporting her son in this matter.

Andy sighed.

"Ab ismein Bela kya kr sakti h?aapko toh pata h na Nirvair kesa h?kisi ko dukh dard mein dekh hi nhi sakta"His dadi said and everyone agreed with it.

Iknoor who was a silent suspector all this time agreed with dadi.

The Nirvair she knew since school time was always like this,ready to help anyone who needed it.

A nice guy with a golden heart,a guy who always helped others,was always kind and generous and a guy who always has the most beautiful smile.

How could she think that Nirvair could ever do bad with someone?

Seeing all this she wasn't sure if he had unknowingly hurt her or did all that intentionally.

Because even though he had said those hurtful things to her on their wedding night his actions were alot different then his words.

From the starting of their relationship and even after their marriage he has always made sure she was fine, always made sure to help her whenever she needed it without her asking it from him.

How can she forget that he was the same guy who had jumped into freezing water just to retrieve her payal?

How can she forget that he was the same guy who had carried her in his arms all the way to tirupati temple because she wanted to pray?

How can she forget that he was the same guy who had knocked senses into her when she had wanted to quiet her job because of her own stupid thought?

No matter what she could never ignore his gestures.His words surely have hurt her,maybe beyond repair but his overall behaviour with her can't be ignored right?

He hasn't made her feel unwanted ever.

He has never made her feel as if she was a burden he was carrying around.

His word's can't be ignored.But maybe she should give him a chance and hear him out.

Maybe he has something in his defence.

A guy who was so good to everyone,a guy who can't even see a dog in pain can't possibly willingly hurt his wife,right?

They can't live their life like this.

Being at each other's throat.

She needs to talk to him.

Atleast for her own mental peace.

After sometime,

Nirvair returned back after dropping the dog into a dog shelter and saw only his wife waiting for him in the living room.

"Tum kyu mera wait krti ho?jaakr so jaaya karo na?"Nirvair said because he didn't liked that she had wait for him and ruin her sleep for that.

"Jaakar naha lo,you need a bath the most now"Iknoor said ignoring his words and not even taunting him in return as she would have done usually.

Nirvair didn't said anything then and nodded and left towards the bathroom to have a bath.

Iknoor on the other hand re-heated the dinner and served it into a plate and took it for him in the bedroom itself.

Nirvair came out of the bathroom in just a night pyjama.As always skipping a t-shirt.

"Tum kabhi pure kapde pehenkr nhi ghum sakte?"Iknoor asked as she saw him.

Nirvair just shrugged his shoulder at that and took the plate which she held in her hands.

"Thank you"Nirvair said as he settled on the couch to have his dinner,he was really hungry and he had missed homemade food in the past three days.

"Tum agar kaam se bahar jaate ho toh ghar pr call krke inform nhi kr sakte?sab worried hote h tumhare liye"Iknoor said as she sat on the bed facing him.

"Mein busy tha,wese bhi sabko pata h jab mein kaam se bahar jaata hu toh call waghera nhi krta"Nirvair said as he continued eating.

Iknoor sighed hearing that.

"See Iknoor mein tumhe kabhi nhi puchunga tum apne workspace mein kya krti ho,kaha jaati ho?tum bhi mujhse mat pucho kyuki mein wese bhi nhi batane wala"Nirvair said making it clear because he doesn't gets time to call his family and let them now about his whereabouts.

"Tum aise kyu ho?"Iknoor couldn't help but voice it out.

"Aisa hi hu mein"Nirvair said instead and she sighed deeply this time.

"Mujhe mat batao tum kaha jaatein ho kya krte ho,apni mumma ko bata diya karo,woh tensed hoti h baar baar"Iknoor said and he sighed.

He knew his mother worries but he can't help it.

Nirvair didn't said anything to that.

"Tumne mujhse shadi kyu ki Nirvair?"Iknoor further asked making him stare at her.

She wasn't seeming to be angry,nor was she irritated.

It seemed she needed an answer.

"Sach bolu ya jhooth?"Nirvair asked with a smile on his face.

Iknoor rolled her eyes seeing that smile on his face.

He can never be serious.

"Jhooth toh hamesha hi bolte ho,kabhi sach bhi bol do"She said and he chuckled hearing that.

"Meri family ki wajah se.....and please don't get offended by this....mein sab explain kr sakta hu tumhe"Nirvair said because he thought she would just lash out as she always did when this topic came up.

Iknoor gestured him to continue.

"See Iknoor mera shadi wadi ka kabhi plan nhi tha.......I never wanted a life partner...aur aisa isliye nhi h kyuki mujhe lagta h ki mere layak koi nhi h,aisa isliye tha kyuki mein kisi layak nhi hu.....I was happy in my solidarity "Nirvair said and she didn't say anything so he continued.

"Jab hamari shadi ki baat ho rahi thi toh I will be honest with you meine mana kr diya tha....not because you aren't a good person but because I may not always be nice to you,I may sometimes hurt you because of some reasons and that's exactly what I did on our wedding night"Nirvair said nervously as he talked about the wedding night.

"See mujhe shadi nhi krni thi that was a different thing,now we are married and I accept this not because I have to but because I want to.....I don't know mein tumhe kese samjhau,I know tumhare liye difficult hoga mujh jese ladke pr trust krna and that's totally your right to judge me but just know that I don't consider you as my 'unwanted' wife ever"Nirvair said looking at her and she stared at him with pain in her eyes.

"Toh woh sab kyu kaha tha uss din?"Iknoor asked.

She needed to know why he hurt her with those words that night.

He said he has accepted this marriage then what was the need to say all that to her?

He could have kept that all to himself and put her out of the misery she had suffered because of those words.

"Mein nhi kehna chahta tha woh sab,I swear to god mein tumhe yeh sab kabhi nhi bolna chahta tha!.....uss raat bht kuch ho gaya tha....things were a mess at work and when I came back you started asking questions and I got a lil angry and said those things to you"Nirvair said,not proud of his deeds.

"Tumhe gussa aayega toh tum ulta seedha bolna shuru kr doge?just because things at your workplace is hard doesn't means tum mujhpr apna gussa nikaloge"Iknoor asked in return.

"No....and I know I made a mistake and I am sorry for it truly."Nirvair said staring right into her eyes.

Iknoor immediately moved her gaze away from his not looking into his eyes.

His eyes make her forget everything.

Iknoor didn't say anything then.

"Dekhi Iknoor I am not going to lie to you,I can try to be a good husband but I can't promise to never hurt you again in future......there are a lot of reasons because of which you may feel bad and I can't change them, it's just I don't want to intentionally ever do that"Nirvair said.

Iknoor didn't say anything to that too and stayed quite.

"Honestly batao,mujhe nhi pata mein kya kr raha hu.....matlab I know I should have told you my intentions before marrying you,mujhe bata dena chahiye tha ki meri family ki wajah se yeh shadi ho rahi h and all that but I didn't wanted to hurt you or your family.......but I ended up doing the exact same thing....I don't know where life is taking me Iknoor......I just know that I have a family who loves me a lot,I have a job that I love a lot and then I have you as my wife for whom I am responsible........meri life kabhi aisi nhi thi,nothing has ever happened with me which I never wanted.....but that doesn't gives me a right to hurt your feelings"Nirvair said still staring at her.

"Uss din bhi mein tumhe hurt nhi krna chahta tha..... it's just things were not going according to my wish and so I ended up bursting on you for all that"He said with a deep sigh totally regretting his decision even now.

She can never become his priority that she has understood.

There are a lot of things in his life which he will always prefer over her.

Atleast she has got to know why he married her without his will.She can now make herself ready to live her life like this.

Without expecting anything from him.

"I don't know if him acche husband wife ban payenge ki nhi ek dusre ke liye but I promise you that you will always find a friend in me.....and I don't ever leave my friends mid way"Nirvair said looking at her.

"I married you Nirvair,not to be friends with you for my whole life.....agar hum dono mein husband wife ka rishta nhi ho sakta toh koi aur rishta bhi nhi ho sakta"Iknoor said.

She doesn't wants a compromise now.

If they can't be husband and wife they can't be anything at all!

"Iknoo........

"Mujhe neend aa rahi h,good night"She said as she snuggled into the blankets.

Friend.

With the feelings she has for him it will be better she stays away from him.

Being friends with him might give her hope and she doesn't want it to get crushed the way her heart did on their wedding night.

Nirvair sighed looking at her sleeping figure.

When will things fall into place in his life?
