The Sehgal's had yet again arrived at the Iyer house for the haldi ceremony.The haldi that was to be applied to the bride and groom had been already placed in the mandir so that it's blessed.

The groom was ready as he was made to sit on a huge container that was placed and inside it a small cushioned still was placed for him to sit.A similar container was placed beside his where the bride would sit.



Nirvair was already sitting on his side and they all were just waiting for Iknoor to come so that they could begin with the haldi ceremony.

Iknoor came with her bhabhi,she took more time because of her hair which were long and needed a lot of time to style,but the hairstylist they had hired had done a wonderful job and her hair looked beautiful.

She had yet again opted for a half-saree,she loved wearing them,also it was a South Indian wedding so she wanted to dress accordingly.

She looked beautiful in the green and yellow half saree.Her long hip length hair were put in a beautiful braid which was decorated with flowers,she didn't wanted to keep her hair open because she knew this haldi function was going to be messy because of her siblings and she didn't wanted her hair to get ruin, it's hard to wash such long hair after all.

Nirvair's gaze went on her as she walked towards her seat and sat on it.

She looked beautiful.

Her hairstyle was gorgeous.She had such beautiful,long and thick hair,he has to admit it!

"Chalo bhai shuru krte h phir"Sumitra said as now even the bride had arrived.

"Aunty,woh hamare yaha haldi ke function se pehle dulha dulhan ek dusre ka muh mitha karata h....kind of like a sweet beginning for the function....aap permission de toh kare?"Gaurav Anna asked looking at the Sehgal's.

"Ha,ha beta karo,achi baat h mithas se shuru hoga function toh"Pinky dadi said and Gaurav Anna nodded and signalled Naman to get the bowls of sweets.

Iknoor and Nirvair both were handed a bowl of gulab jamun each.

Firstly Iknoor was supposed to feed Nirvair and she forwarded a gulab jamun towards his mouth which he ate.

As soon as he took it in his mouth all the Iyer siblings were staring at him,even Iknoor was staring at him keenly,waiting for some reaction.

Nirvair who ate it didn't give any reaction.Once he had finished eating,he took the bowl from Iknoor's hand and Iknoor who hadn't expected that couldn't resist it.

Nirvair then picked one gulab jamun from her bowl and forwarded it to her mouth who immediately looked at Ikbir.

"Arre tu apne bowl se khila na Nirvair,tum dono ko alag alag bowls diye h taaki tum ek dusre ko teeno gulab jamun khila sako"Ikbir immediately said.

"Mein itna meetha nhi khaata,wese bhi muh mitha karana tha na,ho gaya"Nirvair said looking at him.

"Arre Nirvair jiju,yeh mujhe de dijiye,aap isse khila dijiye"Lakshmi, Iknoor's cousin said as she went forward to take Iknoor's bowl from his hand.

"Le lo"Nirvair said giving her his bowl which was untouched.

"Arre ismein se khilana h,dono bowls bhagwan ke paas rakha tha na,toh prasadam ho gaya h na,toh ismein se khilao ab"Lakshmi said pointing towards the untouched bowl.

"Nhi,koi nhi,yeh baakiyon ko khila do,yeh wala share kr lete h hum"Nirvair said not leaving that bowl at all.

"Arre Nirvair share kyu krna h,dusra h na"Gaurav Anna said.

"Koi baat nhi,ab life share krne wale h hum dono,gulab jamun toh share kr hi sakte h"Nirvair said that with a smile and the Sehgal's were a lil surprised hearing that but they thought he had finally accepted this marriage.

"Ha,ha ab toh sab share krna hi h inko,issi mein se khane do,wese bhi share krne se pyaar badhta h,h na Bhai"Aashi teased them and Nirvair nodded at it.

Lakshmi then nodded too and couldn't say anything more.

Nirvair forwarded the gulab jamun towards Iknoor's mouth who very hesitantly ate it,she just wanted to have a small bite but Nirvair pushed the whole gulab jamun in her mouth making her almost gag as she ate it.

Seeing her horrible reaction to eating the gulab jamun made everyone curious.

"Kya hua puttar?aisa muh kyu bana rahi h tu?"Sumitra asked and Iknoor couldn't say anything to it.

"Kya hua Iknoor gulab jamun accha nhi tha?"Nirvair asked looking at her who almost glared at him.

He purposely did it!

Just to give it back to them!

"Yeh le paani pi le!"Ikbir said as he went and brought a glass of water for her and Iknoor gulped it down immediately to get the horrible taste out of her mouth.

"Arre pr hua kya h?"Shivansh asked as he too didn't understand what happened.

"Yeh,inn logo ne shararat kiya hoga!"Periamma said glaring at Gaurav,Naman,Ikbir,Shubham, Laksmi,Meher and Tejas.

"Kya kiya inn logo ne?"Twinkle chachi asked.

"Kuch nhi periamma,bas thoda sa nimbu daal diya tha galti se gulab jamun pr"Naman Anna said looking at his periamma who sighed hearing their antics.

"Ohhh"Aashi and Shivansh said.

The Sehgal's laughed at that.

"Bhai humne toh inko itna seedha samjha tha na aunty,aur yeh toh prankster nikle!"Abeer said.

"Bhabhi,aap apne honewale pati ko nimbu wala gulab jamun khila rahi thi!"Shivansh said.

"Mujhe nhi pata tha!"Iknoor immediately said putting all the blame on her siblings.

She was the bride,they wouldn't scold her anyway.And to be honest it was her siblings idea only,but she was aware about it and had just executed it.

The Sehgal siblings all had thought that the Iyer family was very calm and simple people,but here they had just encountered that the Iyer siblings were just like them full of notoriousness and fun.

"Kal inko club mein dekha tha tab toh laga tha ki yeh log sirf aapas mein enjoy krne wale log h,yeh toh yaha prank war start kr rahe h badi maa!"Shivansh said looking at Bela who laughed at his words.

As soon as those words escaped Shivansh's mouth the Iyer siblings all widened their eyes at that.

Fuck!!

"Club?kal raat?!!"Patti said glaring at the Iyer siblings who looked anywhere except her.

"Haa hum sab bhi gaye the na waha,toh yeh sab bhi aaye the,tab dekha tha inhe"Nirvair said innocently.

The Iyer siblings knew there was nothing innocent about his words.He was knowingly saying all that so that they would get in trouble.

Ikbir knew Nirvair had said this because he wanted to take revenge on them for making him eat that horrible gulab jamun.

Nirvair gave him a smirk when Ikbir looked at him, trying not to glare at him in front of everyone.

How wrong were they if they had thought that Nirvair would ever change!

How could they even think that Nirvair was that silent guy who would take whatever happens with him without giving it back.

"Meine mana kiya tha!!!Atu ellām mikavum matippaṟṟatu!!(Yeh sab itne nalayak h!)Puriyavillaiyā?(Tumhe samajh nhi aata h?)Nāṉ oru muṟai uṇarntēṉ!(mana kiya tha na ek baar!)Talaimaṟaivāki viṭṭāṉ!(chupke bahar chale gaye!)"Patti said scolding all her grandchildren including Iknoor.

Even though the Sehgal's didn't understand a word they knew that they all were being scolded by Patti's tone and the way they all were staring at the floor as they were scolded.

The Iyer siblings quietly just listened to the scoldings because they didn't had any other option.

"Mujhe laga jese mein apne bhai behen ko lekr gaya tha wese hi tum bhi lekr aaye the inn sabko Ikbir,tum bade ho na"Nirvair added fuel to the already burning fire.

Ikbir looked at Nirvair,if only he could punch him forgetting he was his sister's would be husband he would have done it.

"Itaiyellām nāṉ eṉṉa ceyya vēṇṭum?(Kya karu inn sabka mein?)Ellōrum orē mātiritāṉ!(sab ek jese h baat hi nhi sunte!)Tirumaṇattiṟku muṉ vīṭṭai viṭṭu veḷiyēṟuvatu keṭṭa cakuṉam!

(Apshagun hota h ghar se bahar nikalna shadi se pehle!)"Patti continued scolding them and Nirvair enjoyed it.

They thought they could mess with Nirvair Sehgal and get away with it,how wrong were they!

"Ikṉūr, itaiyellām nīṅkaḷ ceyya vēṇṭiyiruntatu allavā?(Iknoor tujhe toh mana krna chahiye tha na inn sabko?)"Patti said looking at Iknoor now.

Atu eṉ tappu illai pāṭṭi, eṉṉai kaṭṭāyam vara vaṟpuṟutti iruntārkaḷ, niṟaiya pēr iruntāṅka, nāṉ eppaṭi taṉiyā irukkaṇumṉu tōṇutu?(meri galti nhi h patti,inhone mujhe force kiya tha aane ke liye,yeh sab itne saare the,mein akele kese mana kr paati?)"Iknoor said putting all the blame on her siblings.

"Puttar tujhe toh mana krna tha na!"Iknoor's nani asked her again.

"Meine mana kiya tha Nani,inn sabne force kiya tha mujhe!"Iknoor said making an innocent face and Nirvair knew she was faking it to get out of the situation.

"Aiyoo parmeshwara!"Patti said and the Iyer siblings still stared at the floor.

"Nīṅkaḷ mikavum periyavar, itu uṅkaḷukkut teriyumā?(tu toh bada h na?tujhe toh pata hona chahiye na!)"Patti said glaring at Ikbir who kept staring at the floor.

"Mēlum tirumaṇattiṟku muṉ veḷiyē ceṉṟāl eṉṉa keṭṭa cakuṉam teriyumā? (aur tujhe bhi pata h na ki kitna bada apshagun hota h shadi se pehle bahar nikalna?)"Patti said then looking at Laksmi who was married and so she was supposed to know how important these things were.

Nobody had the courage to say anything to their Patti,they didn't want to face more of her wrath.

"Oh ji rehne do ab,ab toh kuch kr nhi sakte,inn bacchon ne karnama kr hi diya h"Iknoor's nanu said and all the Iyer siblings looked at him as if he was god.

Well he was because he was saving them from their Patti's wrath.

"Haa jaane do abhi!"Iknoor's thatha too said and the Iyer siblings too nodded at that.

"Patti aage se kabhi nhi hoga pakka promise!"Tejas Anna said and Patti glared at him making him gylp in fear.

"Aṭutta muṟai ippaṭi niṉaittālum: Uṉ kālkaḷai uṭaippēṉ!(agar agli baar aisa kuch socha bhi h na toh taange tod dungi tum sabki!)"Her Patti said glaring at all of them who immediately nodded hearing that.

"Function shuru krte h"Periamma said and the Sehgal's nodded at that.

Firstly the haldi was applied to Nirvair by his dadi and dadu.

Once it was applied to him then his dadi and dadu applied the haldi on Iknoor as well.

This was then followed by everyone as they came and applied haldi on the couple one by one.

"I thought you have changed"Ikbir whispered as he applied the haldi to Nirvair.

"You have thought wrong then"Nirvair said with a smirk and Ikbir harshly applied haldi on his cheek making Nirvair chuckle.

When Ikbir went towards his sister he literally pressed both of his palms against her face completely applying the haldi on it.

Iknoor sighed.She knew this was coming,she had done the same on his haldi function after all.

Maahi too applied haldi to them then.

Till it was all going very smoothly and everyone was applying haldi gently but as soon as it was Hriday's turn he too went crazy with Nirvair making him glare at him.But to his bhabhi he applied the haldi gently just on her cheeks.

The other Sehgal siblings also followed Hriday's footsteps and literally applied haldi everywhere on Nirvair's face and body leaving no space.

Iknoor's condition was no less,both were covered from haldi from head to toe.

Iti too went and cutely applied haldi on her buddy and badi maa's cheeks as instructed by her mumma.

"Ab nahane dete h bicharo ko,bht zyada haldi lag gayi h,dikkat ho rahi hongi inko"Bela said feeling pity for the couple.

"Nahane ki kya zaroorat h aunty,hum abhi thik kr dete h dono ki halat"Ikbir said as he signalled his brother something.

Soon enough water started pouring on everyone because they had applied sprinklers on the poles that were decorated with flowers.

It was a rain dance.

The Sehgal siblings were amused seeing it.

This family was crazy but fun!

Gaurav Anna turned on the music system and they all began dancing freely on the music getting soaked in the water that was pouring down on them.

Iknoor and Nirvair were drenched too because of the sprinkler attached above their seats,it was good because they could finally rub their faces and get the haldi off of it.

"Bhai aao na!"Aashi said as she pulled Nirvair out of the huge container he was sitting in and pulled him towards the centre where they all were dancing.

"Noorie chal!"Gaurav Anna said as he pulled his sister too on the dance floor.

The elders all shook their heads fondly at the youngesters who were having a lot of fun.

Iknoor didn't dance at all,she could never dance when people watched her,it was her complex since childhood.

"Come on bhabhi!"Aashi asked as the men were dancing on one side and the ladies were dancing on one side.

"Nhi,nhi,mujhe nhi aata"Iknoor said as she tried to go towards her Patti.

"Jhooth mat boliye bhabhi,kal dekha tha aapko dance krte huye humne!"Aashi said and Iknoor's mouth widened with shock.

"Chaliye bhabhi dance kijiye na aapki hi haldi h!"Abeer said as he came towards the ladies.

Iknoor still shook her head in denial.

How could she dance infront of her in law's?

What would they think about her?

She was feeling shy and awkward.

"Noorie chal na yrr!"Tejas Anna said as he pulled her where all her brother's were dancing.

Butta bomma was playing in the background and her brother's were urging her to dance.

She stared at everyone who were all smiling and laughing,Nirvair too was dancing with his friends,Hriday,Aayat,Aashi, Shivansh,Abeer,her brother's,her bhabhi,Lakshmi,her jiju,her Periappa,chittappa,Nirvair's chachu's and chachi's everyone were dancing in their own world,enjoying it to the fullest.

"Chal na Norrie"Ikbir said then gesturing her to go ahead.

And Iknoor did it then.

She too moved her arms and waist at the song as her brother's all hooted for her making her laugh at them.

She went and pulled her Nani and Patti too towards the dancing area,Ikbir had asked the water to stop for now,he didn't wanted the elder ladies to fall sick because of getting wet in the rain dance,it was anyways winter and very cold in the south.

Her Patti and Nani too danced with her and Iknoor laughed joyfully seeing them enjoying and being happy.

Everyone joined the dance floor then,all the men and all the women,they all danced in their own way,even though they were unaware of the meaning of the lyrics of the Tamil songs that played,they just vibed with the beats of it.

Iknoor smiled so hard while dancing,as she saw everyone so happy,enjoying to their hearts content.

It felt perfect.

Nirvair on the other hand stood at the other end of the dance floor,he too stared at both the families who seemed too joyful with the moment.

He sighed.

His gaze went towards his would-be wife,who too like him stood at the other end of the dance floor and was staring at the families.Her face had a bright s

mile and her eyes were glassy.

Yet the unmistakable happiness was visible on her face,the merry glow of her face shining bright as she smiled even more.

She was perfect.

He wasn't.

For her.

He didn't wanted that bright glow to escape her face ever.
